The College of music, Mahidol University was established with the purpose to create music students of quality, with good taste, and with a social principle. Such aims are reflected in all elements that make up the college; the curriculum, structures, as well as tasks arranged by the college, etc. From its facility to today, the College has broadened, developed, and progressed in all facets, from teaching quality, number of students, structures, social as well as worldwide goals. The progress of the College of Music is proof of the advancement in quality of all included parties. The future of the College of Music is therefore not concerning the future of a music university, yet about the future of a musical paradise in a borderless world.

The initial music school in Thailand to provide programs of research study ranging from the high-school to doctoral degree, College of Music now has over 129 permanent faculty at Salaya campus, serving over 1,300 students. The University comprises 10 buildings, consisting of the ongoing building of the South East Asia Music Gallery.

In March of 1986, the Mahidol College Council formally supported the formation of a new worldwide bachelor level program, the initial of its kind at a public college, marked back then as the International Students Degree Program, or ISDP. Six months later on, in September of l986, the program welcomed its first class of students.

Over the taking place years, there were added advancements in the college’s scholastic, physical as well as social landscapes: an ever-increasing student enrollment, new major programs, the promo of a lively student exchange program, as well as more development of its physical facilities, including an eight-story extension.
